VW Layout

You will assemble a layout in InDesign based on the provided text, images and fonts. The goal of this exercise is to use the basic InDesign layout skills learned in the previous exercise. All this is done within a real-world scenario, where the client would supply all material to design the piece.

  • Creating a new document
  • Working with guides & grids
  • Style Sheets
  • Placing images (Raster and Vector)
  • Placing text
  • Manipulating text (Space After, Space Before, indents)
  • Moving items around the page
  • Resizing text & image frames
  • Hyphenation
  • Text Wraps
  • Inserting Special Characters
  • Using Spell Checking
  • Working with Styles
  • Working with colour (including special colours)
  • Flipping images
  • Organizing work with Layers
  • Working with Contextual Menus
  • Printing in black & white
  • Printing in colour at the Publishing Centre

Specifications

  • Your layout must resemble the provided sample.
  • It must have column guides.
  • It must have an eigth-inch bleed.
  • Your document must not contain two consecutive paragraph breaks.
  • Images need to be at 100% in InDesign.
  • You must use all provided text.
  • All text must have a style sheet.
  • You must only use provided fonts & images.
