For this project, you will chose a design project from another course. I know that Dave has you doing a large identity package in Graphic Design. You could take any single item from that course to work on.

You will use that one item to design your Quote.

You could use the whole design project to design the Proposal and the Invoice.

Project Letter Lasers

Business Forms

It is imperative that you use proper forms when dealing with clients, for reasons of professionalism & legality.

Quote

You will design a quote based on a an assignment you are doing in another class. For example, if you are designing a kit folder with Dave Bromley, you will estimate the cost to the client for this piece. The values will be based on learned pricing formulae. That is, you will use the formula we covered in class to calculate your hourly rate and the total cost of the contract in question. You will need to know how much time it will take you to complete the project.

You will design the appearance of the contract and submit an attractive, appealing form, as if I was the customer.

Proposal

A proposal is a longer document that an estimate or a quote. The proposal better demonstrates your understanding of the project. It is generally written for higher-cost projects with more formality.

The proposal takes the form of a written letter. It is drafted in full sentences, as opposed to the quote which looks more like an invoice. It also includes a schedule/timetable. It includes all the items in the quote, just in a more formal format.

You will use one of the major projects in another of your classes on which to base your proposal. You will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the project at hand.

You will design the appearance of the document and submit an attractive, appealing form, as if I was the customer.

Invoice

During the semester, you will track the time you will take to complete a project in another class. You will use learned skills to design an invoice with realistic values & details. It will be based on the same project for which your wrote your estimate.

You will design the appearance of the document and submit an attractive, appealing form, as if I was the customer.
